Terrell Owens attempted suicide

I heard he went to the hospital, but if he truly attempted suicide, I will be as speechless as you. He would be the last person I would expect. Well, I don't KNOW Owens besides his public persona.

He took a bottle of prescription pills, a bottle of 40 minus 5 pills............

Weird . . . I just finished reading over at ESPN.com where he was hospitalized and I thought this passage was odd before I even saw the suicide report.
Doctors treating the Dallas Cowboys receiver were trying to induce vomiting when he arrived at Baylor Medical Center, according to a television report.

What's weird about it? That's a common treatment for overdosing on medication.

. . . What I meant was it was weird because I read the ESPN story a thought to myself "If I didn't know better, that sounds like what they do for somebody that tried to commit suicide." Then I came here and you had just posted an article saying the same thing.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. It's sad, but didn't we all know that he was pretty messed up in the head? Hopefully he gets some help.

Not accusing the guy of anything, but wonder if he has taken steroids or androgens. These substances taken in high doses are linked with suicidial tendencies. Not claiming he has, just looking for a reason for something that seemed highly unexpected.

There's just no telling with that guy. I think the guy acts like a complete imbecile, but I hope the report isn't true.

Good point.I wonder too how many he actually took and if it was a cry for help instead of an all out suicide attempt.

Just another attempt to get attention, this guy obviously has some serious issues.

OK . . . Now Owens is trying to convince everyone it wasn't a suicide attempt and that the pain pills reacted with a supplement he was taking that made him incoherent when he gave his statement.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this turned out to be another publicity stunt...

I would be very surprised if this was any sort of stunt. I have never been a T.O. fan, however, suicide is something that should not be looked upon lightly. Owens needs some help and obviously needs a tremendous amount of support from those closest to him. I really wish him the best of luck and hope that he can get away from whatever demons have pushed him to this.

People attempt suicides for attention all of the time.

He wasn't getting enough attention, so Rosenhaus advised T.O. to overdose on pills... that will get them both back on the map.

Didn't realize the guy had such a messed up life. He didn't find out who his dad was until he was 15. The only reason he found out was because the old man was living across the street and he told TO to quit hitting on his stepsister. That's F'ed up.

What a joke. They're on ESPN now basically forgiving him for everything he's did in the past and blaming the teams he was on at the time for his actions.

They even showed him walking around, smiling, and laughing as Bob Ley was brought in to shed light on this traumatic situation as only Bob Ley can do.

I'm so glad he's playing for the Cowgirls. These kind of distractions couldn't happen to a more deserving team.

Parcells is holding his press conference right now. He's doing his best not to choke any reporters.
