U.S. Military Weapons Inscribed With Secret 'Jesus' Bible Codes - ABC News

Coded references to New Testament Bible passages about Jesus Christ are inscribed on high-powered rifle sights provided to the United States military by a Michigan company, an ABC News investigation has found.

the story is strange enough, but then some fellow with one of the 10 billion "separation" groups says:

"It's wrong, it violates the Constitution, it violates a number of federal laws," said Michael "Mikey" Weinstein of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, an advocacy group that seeks to preserve the separation of church and state in the military.

"It allows the Mujahedeen, the Taliban, al Qaeda and the insurrectionists and jihadists to claim they're being shot by Jesus rifles," he said.

My one thought is, "how much spare time does ABC have nowadays?"

I suppose ABC news would prefer that the government be able to dictate to this private company what they are and are not allowed to do in producing their product, or perhaps they would prefer the fed raise our taxes to even more confiscatory levels to allow them to build the sights for themselves (as if a government operation would even be capable of matching the quality produced by a private company). Ridiculous.

ABC news, just like most other "news" organizations, have become socialist anti-Christian shills.

My first thought is, does anyone have the spare time to draw a target on Mickey's buttocks, I feel a need to sight in my 12 ga. :p

And we're spending God Dollars to rebuild infrastructure, to 'bailout' US industry, and for all these wreckovery projects.

Get over it. It's a non-issue. If any insurgent sees a Trijicon sight that up-close, we're doing our job wrong.

My spare thought is if the government cannot (and should not), why is the military a public entity?

Edit: I completely misunderstood your comment until I read it again.

I suppose that if the government wanted to bid and contract for products that meet specific criteria, they certainly can. They've never had any problem with spending our tax money on extravagant and silly requirements in the past.

However, from the article, what I gathered is that the sights were made that way for the free market and the government purchased the scopes as they were. I don't think they had the scopes custom made for the military, unless I missed something in that article.

I wonder what the reaction would be if they were inscribed with verses from the Koran or the Tipitaka?

Weinstein and his ilk would be more confortable with an inscribed excerpt from the communist manifesto!!

That's what they are all about, plain and simple.

if they have viva chavez on the rifle i'm sure there would be no problem. funny thing is that ABC worked harder on this nonstory than they did investigating any of Hussein's past.

I didn't ask that, nor did I mention communism. I simply wonder if those who are ok with it would still be ok with it if the inscriptions were from the Koran or Tipitaka instead of the Bible.

If someone is making a product and wants to inscribe from the Koran or Tipitaka (whatever that is), I don't care. I don't have to buy the product, and I should respect my freedom of religion enough to respect theirs. If the product they make with said inscriptions is the best buy for our military, I don't mind that either. Only God can change a person's heart.

are we killing terrorists, but that they get to go out with a bullet from a rifle with christian verses inscribed.

I would call that poetic justice.:dance2:
