Tess Darby article

Nice read. Tess seems to be the glue-type player good teams need to stay focused. Humble and willing to do what the team needs for success. Leading by example.
Like to see her pump fake a shot, get her defender off her feet. Maybe drive and get fouled. It would make other teams respect her a bit more..

That’ll come give her some time. Right now we just need Tess to hunt shots from the perimeter. In the last few games she’s heating up.

Really liked that play Va Tech ran about a dozen times for Sheppard lol. Would be a nice play to get her an open look at the top of the key a couple times a game. Throw a wrinkle in and run a play for her. She’s money from the top of the key.

As Tess develops this year and over the summer I think we will see her body change even more and see her handles improve. Rae was willing to put the ball on the floor as a young player but needed to learn control. Tess still needs to improve her speed and handles to be a confident triple threat player. Right now putting the ball on the floor is a turnover for her but it will get better.

Really nice article. Players like Tess are invaluable to a program building a culture. She has a great rapport with her coach, a home state connection, a love and respect for the program. Plus, she has leadership skills and the desire to help others be better and feel more comfortable. Loved to hear Rennia took her under her wing. Still think we don’t appreciate Rennia enough for all she gave the Lady Vols and sticking with the program through thick and thin.
