Of the candidates remaining, I was wondering how Ron Paul ranks in your minds.

The choices are:

He is my first choice

He is my second choice

He is not in my top three

He would never get my vote

Would be my 3rd choice behind Johnson (Libertarian now) and Obama...

Honest question . . . How do you waiver between the least Libertarian candidate and the most Libertarian candidates?

Social policies, honestly. Johnson is the most liberal of them all. Paul is still crazy on some respects. Obama is neutral, at best.

The man is extremely smart but I believe his views on Iran would lead us into WW3.

I am not for nation building, or invading other countries, but his leave them alone and they'll be fine mentality could lead to Israel going after Iran which could pull us into a major war.

He is against sanctions even.

I do not agree with any of this.

That and he's a liar when it comes to earmarks, etc etc.

I personally am not happy with any of the candidates to be honest.

I'd have to say second after Gary Johnson.

that's where I am too

if you follow his logic out then how does Israel in a war pull the US in?

I'm up to speed on Iran's capabilities, but I'm not up to speed on what we've done to try and stop it, as far as negotiating goes.

Have we even tried to leverage no sanctions with no enrichment, or is that what the no preconditions crap was about last election cycle?

Why sanction Iran? Why not allow US companies to trade with them?

Iran has much more to lose by attacking us and/or our interests if we are trade-partners.

He's an outside 3rd for me (may or may not support him)

The biggest question to me is whether or not he'd be an effective executive.

If we go to war with Iran, haven't both China and Russia said they'll side with Iran? How are we going to fight that war when we are flat out broke?

I get where you are coming from but 2 of these guys are strong advocates for reducing the role of federal government in individual's lives and the other is the strongest proponent of increasing it's role since Lyndon Johnson.

To me, that too is a social policy.

What increase in social policies do you anticipate with Romney or Huntsman?

That's funny. I think the establishment's views on Iran will start WWIII. Specifically sanctions (which is a great way to make an enemy).

And liar? You mean hypocrite, I think.

That is a big question, but I'm thinking at the very least he can veto everything and decrease spending.

Ron Paul has never voted for any of the earmarks he has added to bills. If anything he is exposing the system for what it is while exploiting that same system to the benefit of his constituents.
