Lotta folks looking around for details and asking "why". Here's my take:
Although this gained some national attention as it progressed, some things are better left private. We're talking about an 18-19 yo kid here in his first year away from home I assume. I'm willing to chalk this up as an immature choice to simply "get away". For whatever reason. I'm certain there will be consequences once there is an understanding of all the circumstances. Frankly, I dont care to know. I dont care if he plays another down. What I do care about is letting this guy know, and all of our players for that matter, that no matter what, you've got a support team built in for you. All schools do. A&M is not breaking new ground with that. Like I said, glad he's back. Glad he's unharmed. Certainly glad he came back, and will be pleased to see this little hiccup used as a learning tool for our guys. Even when its "all about football", its really not. These boys are human, young, and still make dumb choices. We need to remember that and they need to remember they have endless resources around them to help in nearly every aspect of their day to day lives.
Thats all I gotta say about it. If details come out later, dont expect me to publish them. Ready to let this one go really.
Thanks to the SEC community for your expression of concern. 'Preciate that.
