There is a lot of truth here. I am for the death penalty, but I have heard after all appeals and legal hoops it actually costs more to execute a criminal in this system than it does to incarcerate them for life.

Typically yes. This, aside from my values as a Christian, is why I am against the death penalty.

Things often not being what they appear to be.
Either something else happened and he came up with this accounting on his own or Some lawyer finally came up with good solid legal advice!:eek:hmy:

That just doesn't make sense. People on death row will have the same legal "appeals and hoops" not to mention upkeep and food.

I like how the Japanese carry out their death penalty cases. Executions are within 6 months of a final, failed appeal. Family and press aren't notified until afterwards.

I guess I'm in the minority but I believe in execution regardless of someones mental health, like said fellow in the article. He's obviously disturbed, but I believe his crimes are to heinous to let him live his life. I also believe to sentence someone to death there must be no doubt in the case and relies on no circumstantial evidence.
