Before the Texas game the Lady Vols should put in some time practicing free throws! Especially if they think they might get the same reffing crew (Beverly Roberts ,Tina Napier ,Bill Larance) that called tonight's game between Texas and LA-Monroe. A total 56 fouls called - 33 on Texas!

UL-M shot 41 free throws. Texas got 34 attempts.

Never hurts to practice shooting your free throws. I don't understand why players, men or women, don't go & practice this & be on top of their A game? I guess it's just something that they take for granted. Shooting free throws is one of the hardest to do when the game happens to be on the line. In times past, I remember when TN Lady Vols would win close games by hitting their free throws with like .02 seconds to go with the game tied so it's always critical to have ice water in your veins & hit those shots in the clutch. It helps your confidence to know you can do it & also helps the team to depend on each player to be good at this part of basketball. GBO & Lady Vols & whip Texas in this next game....then it's on to Baylor.

I bet Graves has been practicing. She was a better free throw shooter in high school than she has been at UT. I think she just got in a rut I expect her to rebound and shoot them well.

This guy could probably help with training. He once hit1,234 free throws in a row without a miss.

When i was in high school back in 1952, we had a guy demonstrate basketball shooting skills for 30 minutes. He missed one shot during that 30 minutes and it was from the free throw line at the other end of the court or a 3/4 of the length of the court. He made 9of 10 from that distance. As a freshman, I was impressed because I thought i was a pretty good shooter. There is a special skill required but it is much easier if you don't have a defensive player with his hand in your face.
