Yeah they play OU in Dallas & Ga in Austin but the rest of their SEC schedule is made up of bottom half of this years standings, Miss St, Ky, Vandy, Florida & Auburn, I believe. A&M is their toughest road game.

Does anyone else think Sankey may have set them up for this?

texas struggled with mediocre B12 teams (Houston, TCU). They will lose those type of games on the road because they will be facing teams who have more talent game in and game out. They only faced 2 or 3 teams that had to 40 talent this year. That’s everyone but Vandy in the SEC.

They also won convincingly in Tuscaloosa, something we haven't done in.....checks notes....20 years.

Texas will be the downfall of the SEC, they will ruin it like every other conference they have been a member of.
Expansion is the downfall of the SEC.

NIL and the unlimited transfer portal is the downfall of college football.

(I just looked, Michigan State has 21 players in the portal.)

I believe the west coast teams will eventually regret the move to the Big Ten & try to rebuild a west coast conference. I believe the travel will eventually wear them out, mentally, physically & financially

Yeah, that's why it really surprised me more with those teams on the west coast moving to the B1G than Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC. I don't see it lasting long, and it doesn't seem like anybody was looking at logistics and travel, and just saw dollar signs and TV markets like a pro sport.

I guess that's where college sports is going.

Ours has to be one of the 2 best. We play at Vandy, MissSt, at Arky, FL, KY...all very winnable games. Then we have toss up at OK, at GA and AL.

Yeah, Alabama struggled with USF, Ark & Auburn. When you find a team that blows thru all 12 games convincingly, let me know.

What is delusional about his post was his comment that Texas would be meeting teams on the road with more talent game in and game out. That’s DELUSIONAL.

2023 SEC talent level

2023 B12 talent level

texas faced 2 teams all year in the B12 that would be in the top half of the SEC talent-wise.

The SEC’s 10th rated team (talent-wise), Missouri would be #4 in the B12.

texas will face a much tougher schedule next year as opposed to this year. Game-in, game out - they will be challenged to a greater extent talent-wise.

The Georgia and Oklahoma games will be real barn burners.
