Texas makes their own schedule release

Better get used to their entitled, obnoxious behavior. Gonna be interesting to watch the d*** swinging contest between bama and Texas in this league.
This type of crap alone is precisely why I wanted Texas nowhere close to this league. They bullied around the Big XII, and I hope the moment they start trying the same arrogant shiz in the SEC every single school tells them to shove it down their piehole.

It will make it that much more fun when they get that ass kicked . They’re not even winning the Big 12 right now, no way they come in here and run $hit.

They can try all they want, and won't be able to do it. It's just a matter of fact...they are a smaller slice of the pie than they used to be. I'm actually fascinated to see how their admin, boosters, fans, etc. handle it. My guess is not well.

I'm still kind of surprised that they approached the SEC, hat in hand, about joining the conference. I figured their ego wouldn't allow it, and when they left the Big 12 they'd try and go independent like they almost did in 2012.

Big deal, longhorns. Your "brown & white" colors will be stained as SEC teams run roughshod over y'all. The REAL Big Orange will be just one to terrorize you & that high-handed garbage to which you're accustomed. This ain't no picnics, 'pokes.

I wondered what would trigger this inevitable rant of mine regarding our wonderful new conference member. My ten years in Texas taught me that Texas University (borrowed from A&M fans) will try to rule the SEC. My thinking is Texas had concern about the potential for growth of the Longhorn Network and saw the diminishing marketability of the Big 12. A big money decision no doubt and I'm sure it wasn't a desire to join the SEC. I heard enough from Texas last year when Alabama came from behind to beat them. They said how they should have won and that big bad Alabama had to struggle to beat a rebuilding Texas. And to just wait until they joined the SEC. Well, the wait is over and we will see just how they do. It would be poetic justice for Vandy to upset Texas in Nashville. I hope that it is the last game of the year and Texas gets to experience that wonderful mid-November night weather. I'm already bored with the upcoming unending discussion of who is the Real UT (just as I am with the lame discussion of the origin of the checkerboard). I was involved in the "Real UT" discussion for my entire time living there. For those who may not know, and I recite from memory - The University of Tennessee was established in 1794 whereas the University of Texas was established in 1883. The first football team for UT was fielded in 1891 whereas the first team for Texas was fielded in 1893, notwithstanding if it weren't for Tennessee, there wouldn't have been a Texas.

They'd never admit it, but I actually think they did have a desire to join the SEC. Otherwise they'd have gone independent when they left the Big 12. I'm sure that was a huge blow to their egos, because they de facto had to admit that they alone weren't bigger than the entire SEC (lol).

They can try all they want to run the SEC, or they might think they can run the SEC, but it's simply impossible. They don't make up a singular gigantic chunk of the conference's revenue as was the case in the Big 12. As for how they will actually perform in the SEC, all I know is that if they bring the way they've played the last decade or so, they'll go about .500 in SEC play each year, if not slightly worse. They haven't even been winning the Big 12 (their last Big 12 title was in 2009), so for them to think they can come in and, all things being equal, dominate in the SEC is comical. Hell, they only won the Big 12 title 3 times...ever. It wasn't like they ever dominated it.

That really makes the Texas folks see red

Think again, steer-boyz... you're gonna be trail dust in the SEC. Those shenanigans ain't gonna fly here. Be content with "middle of the pack", dudes.
They're gonna have to have prepared their depth by the time they hit November in a full SEC schedule. They won't have so many opportunities to rest their starters for the whole 4th quarter, or let younger guys get experience mopping up on pushover teams.

They knew they had to join because Texas boys were becoming more interested in playing in the SEC than playing for Texas. Bottom line was they were starting to lose seriously in recruiting. Joining the B1G was not going to do anything for them other than boost the revenue. Texas recruits are more interested in playing in the Southeast than Wisconsin and Minnesota.

You better watch out for Texas they will ruin this league before too long. I never wanted them in the SEC. Oh well maybe they will eventually move the SEC offices out of friggin Birmingham
The SEC does have factions, but they switch out on every issue. No long-standing voting blocs, which is good.

I think the Longhorns will have about a 40-50 year adjustment getting used to not running the show.
They may not stay.
They are the only team I wouldn't charge a buyout to leave.

I expect OU will find the SEC far more comfortable than the Longhorns
