Texas NIL.

Texas jumping on NIL train. Tennessee needs to get on the train or the hole will get deeper.

Texas supporters launch NIL program that other schools likely will copy

If a booster or any other individual or entity wants to pay a player for whatever reason there isn't much the NCAA can do about it. (generally speaking) I guess the school helping lining things up is okay depending on the situation , if that is what you mean.

Pay to play is already here.

Why do you think Eli Ricks in the portal i.e. $$$$$ to play.

Yeah but considering how that $10 mil is to be spread across 17 sports it really won’t amount to a whole lot. Then you run into the possibility that boosters tossing large amounts of cash around will probably start demanding “exclusive” deals this may be more a hindrance than a help.
Image a top FB player goes there thinking they gonna get a huge deal, sign a paper they don’t read cause it’s a guaranteed NIL deal just to later find out they only get a few grand a year and can’t sign any NIL deals with specific companies cause one fo the boosters doesn’t want to be paying a player and that same player turn around and endorse a competitor.

I think this will blow up in Texas face.

As depressing as it is, I've been thinking about the ways UF (y'all too) are gonna be able to theoretically bolster recruiting by NIL stuff because this state has no income tax...Woulda never thought it'd get to that point, but here we are.

Add Texas and Washington to the lists with no state income tax. I'm sure they are pondering the same thing.

I know Nevada doesn't have much going in terms of college football beyond UNLV and UNR. Wyoming is meh and not a mecca for recruits. The other no income tax states basically have little to no college football to worry about. I'm sure the South Dakota schools have lower division teams. Alaska, has anybody ever seen a college football team from Alaska? (I have not)

SpaceX doesn't have very many competitors though. Dell Computers have a few but the closest one to Austin is HP's campus in North Houston. Maybe we should all pray that Elon Musk and Michael Dell don't like CFB.

On second thought Musk has a rocket facility in McGregor where Baylor's current golf course is and most Bear coaches live. Maybe we can get him to toss us some cash.

There will be innovation on NIL, no doubt. This is what that looks like.

based on the present condition of our public schools in the USA, I liked the part where you say 'they don't read.....'

The point is that TN and NIL is, well, way behind other schools . Yes I know that technically the universities are not permitted to direct this - but - and importantly - other schools are coloring outside the lines and Tennessee isn't.

It won't be spread across 17 sports equally.... Come on..... It will go to income producing sports....
