Texas Tech announces Kliff Kingsbury HC. Great hire!

Congratulations KK and the Raider Nation!

------------------------------------------

With Tommy T to Cincy, Texas Tech now has a HC vacancy.
Travel back in time four days and Sonny Dykes (son of TT's Spikes Dykes) would seem a good candidate if not a lock for the position (timing is everything)---Petrino may finally get "that call".

VN, who should Texas Tech target?

Larry Coker Texas-San Antonio just put up 8 wins in 2nd year of program's existence or maybe Craig and Adam James.

Home town boy Jerry Gray's name is now in play. Would be a good steppingstone to the job in Austin when Mack is gone.

Certainly happy for Kliff and wish him well in the future. Tech was always home and how can you not be happy for a 33 year old who gets paid big bucks to coach his Alma mater?

With success, TAMU is going to have to expect to experience these types of situations. Players declaring for the draft early, coaches getting offers year in and year out. It comes with the territory of being good on Saturdays. I am confident that Sumlin will find a more than adequate replacement and we should not skip a beat.

What's lost however is a youthful exuberance on the side lines and on the practice field that will be hard to duplicate. Kingsbury is as electric as the qb's he coaches and for that, I am sad to see him go.

I still wish him the best.

To address the obvious question left:

Can I root for Tech now?

Sure, once a year.

I liked how CKK asked the AD at the end of the press conference if they could play Cincinnati next year.... too funny.
