Expand please. I'm not taking anything away from Coach Jones but I'm not seeing how Hart did a good job with this search. Two things I'll throw out 1) He offered Strong nearly $4 million a year. Strong is a good coach but not $4 million good. 2) Chris Peterson is reportedly interviewing for the Wisconsin job today. Why wasn't Hart able to get a foot in door for college's winniest coach?

You can't blame BJ for taking the job, but you can without a doubt blame the administration. I hope that Jones turns out to be a good hire, but at this point, he isn't.

Good hire by the numbers, GREAT hire under the circumstances. He is a motivator and his teams get it done. Dave Hart tried to get a couple "bigger names" and they passed. Dave Hart can not make a person take the job. The issues here at Tennessee in the AD are well known. Coaches pass on this job for a reason and money is not it. Only thing I would have liked to have seen is Hart to at least consider Fulmer/Chavis for the job. I honestly see Jones as a younger Fulmer. Can he get this program back to winning? I don't know yet. I will support him and back him 100% as he chose to be a VOL.
