Thank you Bruce for your dedication and true passion you brought to Tennessee during your tenure here. You elevated our basketball program from mediocrity and gave all of us something to cheer for and be proud of for the overwhelming majority of your career at Tennessee. Thanks for your winning record against our big three rivals in basketball (Florida, Vandy, UK). Thanks for great victories such as the showdown against Memphis and taking over the number 1 spot in the country, beating #1 Kansas after Smith, Williams, Tatum and co. got busted and were ineligible, a great run at the final four last season that came up one point short against Mich. St., and last but not least, the passion you brought to work every single day.

Whether it was giving an inspiring pre game speech to the team before a big game, being there for Tyler Smith after his father passed, personally handing out pizzas to the students before the Kentucky game a few years ago, painting yourself orange and showing support for the lady vols, and getting our program great national recognition.

I agree with the university's decision, but I'm truly saddened to see you go and wish you the best wherever you end up. You'll always be a VFL thanks bruce

I'll never forget when we had Florida at home one year, and the student section filled up so fast that a bunch of them couldn't get in ... Bruce came out and gave a speech to the students, thanking them for coming out, and guaranteeing a win against the defending National Champs ... and we did it ... go vols

Sitting in the the tommy bowl for years and years watching loss after loss I always wondered if we would ever have a decent program. Thank you for proving that we can. This is truly one of the saddest days in UT history.
