Regardless of if tonight was Coach Summit's last game or not I wanted to thank her.

I want to thank her for the years I have enjoyed watching her and the Lady Vols. I want to thank her for being such a great ambassador for UT.

Most of all I want to thank her for my 13 year old daughter. I want to thank her for the weekend we drove to Knoxville for a game. I want to thank her for the time I read an article to my daughter about Coach Summit growing up on the farm, and her relationship with her Dad. I want to thank her for her example. She helped me show my little girl that hard work is worth the sweat and the blood. Thanks for showing her how you can be the best while treating people with honor and respect. I want to thank her for showing my daughter how to win and how to lose. How to win and shake hands and tell her rivals that they played a good game. And to hold her head high in defeat, congratulate the winner and work like hell to win the next one.

When I watch my girl play I am amazed by the person she is becoming. I love her attitude of being able to do anything and excel. I love even more how when she falls short of her expectations she dedicates herself to improve. I thank you Coach Summit for your part in her life. Although you have never met my daughter, you are part of her. You are part of her drive, her strength, her passion.

Thank you Coach Summit.

I find it hard to think of what the future of Lady Vol basketball will be without Pat Summitt. Maybe I just don't want to think about it. I hope this was not her last game.

She is one great person who is an inspiration for everyone, not just those within the game of basketball.

Well, I think they're doing it the right way with Holly transitioning into head coaching.. She has taken on a lot more of Pat's responsibilities this year, and is putting her name and face out there for everyone to get used to... Including future recruits.. I'm sure Pat will be involved in some ways even if this is her last year of head coaching.

Thats awesome! ...I will go one step further and say that Pat Summit is women's basketball. Without her, teams like baylor, stanford, uconn, the rest of the sec, wouldn't have the level of program that they do now.
She may have done more for one sport and for countless lives either directly... or indirectly as with the op...than any other coach period.
I'm proud she wears orange

I will never forget the first time I saw Coach Summitt when she came to my sons' high school to scout a 6fl player we had at the time. When she walked in, the atmosphere in the entire gym changed. Both children and adults surrounded her. Even the opposing team's supporters (from Kentucky) got in on the greetings--they knew her reputation.

Coach Summitt is a lady full of poise and grace. And now she's working on the game plan for her own personal life with great determination to keep going. She will forver be remembered as the symbol of UT Lady Vol basketball and NCAA Women's basketball period. God bless you Coach Summitt!!! You are a winner!!!!! :clapping::3083yourock::toast:

Pat Summitt is an icon. She is the face of women's basketball. I hope she coaches at least one more year, but if she chooses not to I think everyone needs to support that and Holly Warlick or whoever the next coach will be. Remember there is only one Pat Summitt and no one will ever replace her.

Thanks Pat.

Holly Warlick would be a HORRIBLE replacement. About as bad as Peck would be, but not quite.

Anti HollyWarlick rhetoric is everywhere. Has she really done anything monumental to show that she does or doesn't deserve her shot to lead the Vols after so many years of assistant? It's an actual question I'm curious about because I not seen anything one way or the other that holly would be GOOD or BAD. Its hard to estimate much of her this year with an unorthodox coach by committee approach..........Seriously I'd like to hear yalls thoughts on her that influence these good or bad estimations...
