Now that the election is over I want to say that I enjoyed all the talk we had leading up to it. I know at times, I got worked up and ticked people off and I tried to be aware of that. I would do good for awhile then I woud have a bad day and say something stupid. I know we don't all agree on the issues but I enjoyed the discussion and I learned a lot from many of you. I have a feeling that I will spend more time talking about important issues such as Tennessee Football and the latest episode of the Office. So, I might not be in the Political Forum as much now that the election is over but again, I enjoyed it. :peace2:

this place was by far the most fun I've had on the board since I've been here.

There are clearly some sharp cookies hanging out in here, especially on the right (wouldn't have been me to leave that caveat off).

I, for one, will not let up on Obama. Unlike the Bush haters (President Bush that is :) ), I don't suffer from an irrational hatred of the man, I just don't trust him and believe that he's lying through his teeth on a variety of issues.

You believe Obama is lying, some of us realize that Bush already has. That's the difference with the "Bush haters". Obama may very well turn out to be an imposter and lier, but we know now that Bush only paid lip service to true conservatism and small government. Only an irrational love of the man can blind you to it. The fact that you "will not let up on Obama" indicates how much of a rational chance you are willing to give him. Bush said all the right things during the elections but had very little follow through. Obama may have said all the wrong things, but you sound like your not even going to give him a chance.

I know Obama is lying. That said, I am a patriot and unlike the Bush haters, I do want Obama to succeed and I want America to prosper and grow no matter who is President. I don't believe his policies, coupled with Pelosi and Reid led houses of Congress, will lead to prosperity, but will lead the US down the road of Euro-style social democracies. The only effective block to some of his more radical ideas is the US Constitution, but if he succeeds in loading the courts with leftist judicial activists, I fear that not even the Constitution is safe.
