I've never hammered him before but that was ridiculous. I know he's not the reason for the poor shooting but he had two timeouts to draw something up and that was done poorly. The way the game went, you could almost tell what they were going to do anyways. They looked for something inside and then took the outside shot. First off, there was absolutely NO movement on that McBee shot. Everyone stood around a little bit and Stokes looked like he was "trying to get position". McBee didn't even have a good look at the basket.

Seriously though. Martin talked about his offense and how it was a watered down version last season. I really thought we'd see progress but we have went backwards. If someone doesn't go off and have a good night...the score drags. We don't move nearly enough when we have the ball so of course any type of offense in the halfcourt is going to suck.

This game was lost this past week in the film and gameplanning area.

Disappointed. I expect more from him and his staff. That said, we still haven't had a natural pg since CJ and it shows. A pg can make or break a coach as well.

How do you know that is what he called? Looked like the McBee shot was a desperation move by McBee cause things didn't go as planned. Looked like the call was to go inside, didn't get it inside, so the McBee did what he had to do.

We don't have a pure shooter on this team, our guards are streaky. Stokes could be a great offensive player, but he is going to get doubled or tripled every night cause we don't have another big to go to. Until we get Maymon back, this is what you are going to get. If we have an off shooting night, it is going to be ugly. Georgetown played a zone, this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone on how this game turned out.

I agree with poor game planning. Anyone with half a brain would have seen that we have struggled against a zone defense so of course John Thompson III was going to zone us. I'm no expert but wouldn't you push the pace a little bit?? Every second you take getting down the court is another second Georgetown drops three guys back and clogs up the paint and that's exactly why Stokes didn't get any touches. I don't understand how you can look so bored on offense against a program like Georgetown, on national tv, Bobby Knight and the nations capital. That's unbelievable. I love having Martin as coach so I really hope he learns a lot from this game. We have to work on offense.

It was obvious that's what he called. I watched the final play a few times and you can see Golden peaking around the arc looking for Stokes. Kenny is sort of just existing and I'm not sure who else was on the other side but it was obvious they were trying to get Stokes the ball. Then you have McBee launching a horrible shot like that. This guy is no spring chicken when it comes to basketball and has been around the block a few times. No way he should be throwing up a shot like that. I have no issues with the quick three by McRae because we held our own on the board all night so I'm guessing they were hoping someone could get a tip back in. It was just horrible. Seems like you have better plays in situations like that.

Watch the Replay... Kenny Hall was wide open down low and they didn't get it to him. I have a feeling the play drawn up was to get it on the inside and draw a foul if at all possible. Doesn't help we left the game winning points at the free throw line. That's our biggest issue right now, free throw shooting. IMO

Not sure I would feel comfortable giving Kenny the ball either after turning it over twice in a row but I agree....I said freethrows was one of my areas of concern because Georgetown would be physical. It was a horrible game but still winnable.

It's hard feeling comfortable giving any of our bigs the ball down low. Stokes turns it over more than he scores it seems. He will sit there and look around, giving the defense time to double him. He never takes advantage of being 1v1 it doesn't seem. Kenny has much better chance of being able to hit a turn around or something athletic than stokes does. If Stokes doesn't get the ball within a foot or 2 of the rim, he's going to miss it. He still needs a lot of work offensively.

Stokes getting doubled is good, if our guards cut or move. They do neither, so that is why Stokes turns it over. Once you get doubled, unless you can toss it out quickly or spin out of it, it is only a matter of time before a hand is going to knock it loose.

As Spartacus has noted, this game was lost in gameplanning. Martin still has a ways to go in figuring out how to attack a zone. It doesn't help him that he has very little in the way of a consistent outside threat. I thought Edwards would be able to help but he's still figuring out what to do.

This team hangs its hat on defense and rebounding. If they would've made half of the free throws they missed they would've won (they were 3-11 which was atrocious).

Said in postgame that it was designed to go inside, appeared it was open, will look at film to see why it didn't go inside.

It's was posted before but PG play was horrible tonight. The few times we got to push tempo it seamed we turned the ball over. Martin's game plan sucked, period. Our offense is stagnate. The inbounds play was just crazy. Sometimes plays just don't work. We shouldn't have been in that situation anyways and wouldnt have been if we had a better offensive game plan.

He just stands there 80 percent of the time looking around clueless though. I do agree though, our guys do NOT do a good job moving to open spots, whether it be a guard or a post man.

Huge zone problems. We move the ball slowly. Dribble too much. Dont move or cut thgrough the zone. Can't feed the post or pass well in general and our shooting is horrendous.

We will see zones all year and average about 60 pts.

Stop bithcin'. This type of defense and rebounding gives a chance every night against everybody on our schedule. Until we get Hubbs and more like him in here we will be playing ugly basketball. I for one like ugly basketball. It makes it better when you win ugly and not lose ugly though. This team will be fine.

This reminded me of the Boring as heck UT Temple game before the days of the shot clock. Can't remember the score--something like 25-19?? Help me out here guys.

So much for waiting on Vol Basketball.
