FOXNews.com - Saudi Kidnap, Rape Victim Faces Lashing for 'Crime' of Being Alone With Man Not Related to Her - Middle East Map | News | Crisis

A 19-year-old Saudi woman who was kidnapped, beaten and gang raped by seven men who then took photos of their victim and threatened to kill her, was sentenced under the country's Islamic-based law to 90 lashes for the "crime" of being alone with a man not related to her.

The woman is appealing to Saudi King Abdullah to intervene in the controversial case.

"I ask the king to consider me as one of his own daughters and have mercy on me and set me free from the 90 lashes," the woman said in an emotional interview published Monday in the Saudi Gazette.
"I was shocked at the verdict. I couldn't believe my ears. Ninety lashes! Ninety lashes!" the woman, identified only as "G," told the English-language newspaper.

Five months after the harsh judgment, her sentence has yet to be carried out, "G" said she waits in fear every day for the phone call telling her to submit to authorities to carry out her punishment.

Lashes are usually spread over several days. About 50 lashes are given at a time.

The woman's ordeal began a year ago when she was blackmailed into meeting a man who threatened to tell her family they were having a relationship outside wedlock, which is illegal in the desert kingdom, according to a report in The Scotsman newspaper.

We're all about democracy and freedom in Iraq but our closest ally in the region still lives in the Dark Ages....

I get a chuckle when I see the Sheiks flying their 747s into to Lexington. Those guys have it all figured out. Keep your populace in a religous frenzy while you play slight of hand experiencing all the vices you teach them to despise.

It is exactly how the right uses religion and tax incentives and the left uses class envy to keep the American public right were they want them....mean time back in the beltway the congressmen and women and the senators live the life of an american sheik.

yes, it truly is the "Religion of Peace" or maybe it should be "Religion of Pieces"

The extent to which the majority of muslims thirst for theocracy is SEVERELY underestimated by most people. They will make the religous right in this country look like a bunch of Octoberfest participants.

I forgot you guys would see a large contingent in sheiks up there. A friend of mine is in good with a breeder and traveled to Qatar and he said their equine setup is by far more advanced than anything he's seen even up there in your neck of the woods.

It really is all about the resources. My neighbor is a thoroughbred trainer, and for him it is an expensive labor of love.

As the first and second generations of horse farm owners in the Lexington area began to pass away their heirs gutted the farms for subdivisions and such. Since then the Saudis have been primary to the success of horse sales in the Lexington area. The amount of money the Saudis pump into the Lexington and Kentucky economy would boggle the mind.

Horse racing is a rich man's game.

The sales alone at Keenland are in the hundreds of millions.

I remember, during my internship with the Lexington PD, we responded to terroristic threatening at a local farm.

The operating officer was german and the owners of the farm are Saudi royalty.

You should have heard the stink he was trying to raise because of the royal family!
