Actually there is a popular teaching theory called reconstructivism and one of it's main founders says that a teacher should indoctrination students to there own biases

Unfortunately, it's a phenomenon that affects all at the K-12 level. My wife was sometimes verbally abused and even punished by her teachers and school administration for being an atheist in rural Tennessee. The thing of it is, she wasn't even open about it. She had simply told some knucklehead girl, who she thought was her friend. The girl then went and told the entire school, including their teachers.

Admittedly, it affects non-liberal students much more in college, since the majority of their instructors - at least in the Arts and Humanities - will be liberal.
