The 1 seeds

Nova, really? I don't know who else deserves it but that is one of the ones ever.

UF
Arizona
Wichita State
?

Va?
Nova?
Duke?

Outside of UF, I could see all of these teams losing before the sweet 16 to a lot of "middle teams".

Just not a consistent year at all for basketball outside of Wichita State winning mostly cupcakes (but still very impressive).

1. All of Villanova's losses are to top 50 RPI teams. They're 5-3 altogether against top 50 teams.

2. Virginia is 4-4 against the top 50 and two losses to 50-100 RPI schools.

3. Kansas is a staggering 12-7 against the top 50 RPI teams and one loss to a 50-100 team (WVU).

4. Duke is 6-4 against the top 50, has one loss to a 50-100 team and 2 losses to 100-150 teams. No way they deserve a #1, even if they win the ACC.

5. Syracuse is 7-2 against the top 50, but they have one loss to a 100-150 team and a loss to a 150-200 team.

6. Wisconsin is 8-4 against the top 50, and have a loss to a 51-100 team and a loss to a 100-150 team.

My vote is Villanova, but if Kansas wins the Big XII tourney, can you really argue against them?

The thing about Kansas is the raw number of losses. Syracuse's problem is their record the last ten games.

I'm starting to think 'nova gets it.

Villanova has the inside track.

Other than the SEC tournament, all the other major conference tournaments have major significance in seeding.

Should make for great TV this weekend.

lawgator and lawrence -

assume 1 seeds are uf, wichita, zona, and nova. who would you least want to see as a 2 seed in your quarter? (not that the 1 overall will have to play the best of the 2's. but just wondering who you want to see and don't want to see in your region)

Do you think UF stays a 1 seed after we beat them in the SECT?

Yes. UF is locked in at a 1 seed.

Are you suggesting that losing to UT would be considered an embarrassing, pathetic, inexcusable and horrific loss by the committee, to the point where UF would drop to a 4 seed?

I'd like another shot at Wisconsin at full strength, if afforded the opportunity.

Still think Oregon should have gone after Donovan hard, very hard when they replaced Kent as head coach. He's an excellent coach. And if Florida plays the tourney the way they played last week, they should just ship the trophy now.
