Yes Tn should be a 2 seed according to most everyone and rightfully so . Even ESPN and CBS have their back. . For the most part the National media has defended the VOLS. Now it’s time to go prove this , if they flame out early in the tourney , we all will hear it and become the talk of the tourney in a very different way . I sure hope they come out with fire and intensity and prove to everyone they are the real deal . I’ll be honest , I’m a bit nervous .

We will not face anyone better than Arky, Auburn and UK on the way to the final 4. I wonder about the potential rematch with Villanova. The early season game they simply backed down our guards and were getting layups and fouls. UT plays much better defense now as the guards have matured. Defense does not have an off night.

It was game #3 for our freshman guards. We had 18 turnovers and shot around 30% I believe. They absolutely jumped on us out of the gate. We were down 20 at the half and played them even in the second half.

I would welcome a rematch. We have beaten each team we have lost to the second time we have played them and in a convincing fashion aside from almost allowing Ark to come back from 20 down. This team takes those opportunities personally and the staff makes adjustments needed for the team to succeed.

The tournament is very random. Anything can happen. It's wrong to attribute the results of randomness to the doing of the committee. They are responsible for the decisions they make with the information they have at the time they make them. And it was the committee themselves, not anyone else, who very publicly adopted specific metrics that they would use for seeding. They need to explain why they ignored every single one of them in our case. If they want to disregard the results of conference tournament then that's their prerogative, but they should set those standards from the beginning and not waver from them in the 11th hour. It's a matter of accountability and fairness to the teams and players who have done everything they've supposedly needed to do to be rewarded with a high seed.

I actually like our bracket, because of the potential for that Villanova game. I'm very much looking forward to playing them again to see just how much we've improved since then, assuming everyone takes care of business before that. Watch us get Loyola-Chicago again.

If they flame out early…take note now that they are not following the path of a #2 seed. Matchups (expected or unexpected), travel. location/venues, officiating crews, fan alliance, etc. are all impacting factors that can’t get lost on the end result of any team’s journey. Tennessee’s body of work already assures that it is the “real deal”. Stipulating a deep advancement into the tourney for the sake of humility is just foolish. Just ask Auburn, Duke, and Kentucky how penalizing (or pardoning?) it is to finish short of perceived expectations.

Whenever there is a disconnect between a team's end of the season ranking and their seeding in the tournament (... and Tennessee is currently ranked 5th in the AP poll, with a 3 seed), it's usually because of a weak strength of schedule, but that just isn't the case with Tennessee. Every single one of Tennessee's 7 losses were to teams which made the NCAA Tournament.

Tennessee and Kentucky finished with the same overall record, and the same conference record. Their schedules are also comparable. The head to head games should have been the tie-breaker. Tennessee won 2 out of 3.

Is it a big deal? No, but I don't think it should be ignored either. Tennessee was slighted by the selection committee.

Has the #5 team in the country ever been a #3 seed before, I highly doubt it.
Let’s pull a 1986 Sugar Bowl type result and prove all the critics wrong.
