It was a decent race tonight. Of course, the rest of this week will be an entirely different animal.

This qualifying format may be the most idioic idea Nascar has ever come up with. Considering we're talking about Nascar that's saying lots.

I have no idea what's going on here. Never seen this before. I'll have to do some research.

This isn't the ideal solution for restictor plate racing.

Obviously not. All restrictor plate qualifying is pretty much pointless, but there's no sense in destroying cars in qualifying, especially for the 500 where some small teams only have one car and can make or break their whole season by getting into the field.

Those two for sure along with Harvick and Smoke since they use Hendrick engines. My wildcard is the RCR powered cars, mainly the 27 and 1.

Ganassi team ( 1 and 42 ) started running Hendrick engines last year.
edit: started in 2013.

That's right. And Furniture Row uses Hendrick engines along with Justin Allgaier's team. Casey Mears and AJ Allmendinger both use RCR engines.

Furniture Row, AJ Allmendinger, and Casey Mear's teams all use ECR motors.

Truex has been strong during speed weeks. I look for him to be a factor Sunday.
