5 of 10 people picked Tennessee for Omaha. Less than those that picked us last year, but I suspect this will change with the Amick pickup and if we get Holman.

Still, it’s a testament to the work Tony has done that basically we are almost annually appearing in this now.

LSU at 10-10 is surprising. They should be like us from 2022 in the number of losses. Floyd, Skenes, Morgan, Dugas, Thompson, Crews, Jobert, Beloso should be givens, with the possibility of Milazzo or Travinksi (both are 4 yr guys and may just move on in life). Like us, it’s hard to replace 90% or more of your AB’s and field experience.

And Jay Johnson wasn’t impressive the prior season before he had an overwhelming talent advantage. He still had great talent in 2022 and they were pretty mediocre.

He needs to have far superior talent to succeed

even with this talent he did not even win his division.... much less the conference.

One thing I’ve noticed… Aaron Fitt and Shotgun (what a stupid name) seem to always to not give us any love
someone on VQ said fitt doesn't like Tony V. don't know about the ''shotgun'' guy though.

It is not even a little surprising that Kendall and Rooney put UT in the Omaha 8 and Fitt did not — it is totally on brand. Fitt was slow to see what was going on with last year’s team (the dominance, I mean), and definitely seems to have an axe to grind against the “antics” that came to be associated with the 2022 Vols. Additionally, my sense is that he views UT baseball as “new money” and is somewhat of a hater in that regard. He will be the last holdout to give our program its due. When he starts putting us in lists like this, you will really know we have fully and undeniably “made it” as a card carrying member of the college baseball blue blood club.

Just how I read him.

Well stated. My sentiments on him as well.

Fitt definitely is anti-Tennessee. He Tweeted out how happy he was to see us lose to ND in the Supers in 2022 and followed up with a not so subtle tweet about the value of sportsmanship. He’s just a hater and the worst of D1. The rest of the guys are great and give Tennessee a lot of love fairly consistently.

If my grandpa was still alive, he’d have hated Tennessee. My uncle saw most of ‘22 before he passed, and he was the best prospect ever to come out of my family. He was jealous of them. He said many times that he wished he could’ve had that much fun outwardly when he played.

My dad said he didn’t like it, but said kids today would be drawn to being allowed to express themselves. How prophetic that turned out to be.. almost every recruit says something about Vitello letting “me be me.”
