Alonso is batting 3rd for the World team tonight.

U.S. team has Royals hitting 3rd and 5th.

I hope Holliday hits 10 line drives to left and center field and goes back to the dugout.

And I hope Carpenter doesn't see the field Tuesday.

And the looks to be the NL's best chance to win in several years.

Here we go. And to pump up the crowd it's . . . Train singing Soul Sister.

Who thinks up something that stupid?

They've got to find a way to either speed this HR Derby up or have the AL and NL faceoff against each other somehow.

If you were a kid shagging balls in the outfield, would you rob a home run from one of the contestants if given the chance?

I wish they would do some skills competition type deals. Things would be interesting. Speed around the bases, longest home run, fastest pitch (eh, lil risky. Joel Zumaya style), throwing from OF into a bucket at home

It's just amazing that MLB thinks anybody is going to watch 2 1/2 hrs of what amounts to batting practice.

It is pretty awful TV. They need to come up with a format that moves things along faster, perhaps add some more components to the setup to make it more palatable.

On rare occasion, this event has been exciting. This just isn't one of those times.

They could do some of that stuff, but they're never going to do any of the extreme stuff due to injury.

Hahaha. Don't worry, he'll only hit one. Ah ha ha ha... moving on.

I think Rickey Henderson thinks he could still play
