Colesburg 40 is on Monday. Forty mile gravel road race about an hour north or here... Can't race it because I have no way to get there. I think I'd do pretty well, too. Lot of big names race it. Oh well, maybe I'll go out on my own gravel road adventure. There's also the 24hr race tomorrow, that I won't be participating in.

Threw my fork up for sale today. Looking to upgrade to an X Fusion Velvet RL and make my initial move to 650b. New fork won't be available until 9/20, though, and my last race of the season is 9/23. Not enough time to get a race in on it. Also, I'm only 7 points behind 3rd place in the 20-29 standings... Just need to finish the final race and hope 3rd place guy doesn't show up... Or finish 7pts ahead of him, which he's always placed well ahead of me overall.

40 miles of gravel does not sound fun.

Ugh. Was running 7th and crashed super hard. Only minor parts broken and, luckily, no bones since 2 guys hit me and went flying, too.

Well, VOLatile, it seems you must enjoy yourself, but you've thoroughly convinced me to never try whatever racing you are doing.

Perfect weather but I have no motivation to ride....depressing. I think I enjoy riding more in summer heat

I'll be riding throughout the winter. Almost finished with my single speed rigid mountain bike. Also, I just did a popular Strava segment on my 26" mountain bike. I held 16.8mph over 2.4 miles, which would have put me tied for 32nd place out of 60-ish people if I didn't already own 2nd place on my road bike.

I usually last till dec but then get tired of the cold. But my problem is I tend to ride solo so I do not have anyone to push me to go. I need more cold weather gear. Right now if the temps hit low 40s I have nothing.

However I do love cold weather mtn biking but the trails do not

We have one trail here that you can ride all year without damaging it. It just so happens to be the closest to my house and where the first race is held.

Once the temp drops below 50 I stop road riding. Will mtn bike as long as it stays above 40. The trails here are open year round.

I finally took my hub into the shop to be looked at. It got passed around to a couple different guys, and I had to leave it there while one of them tries to figure it out.

I didn't think White Industries hubs were that exotic. They looked at it as if they had never seen something like that before.

They're nice. I'll be ordering mine this winter. Lightest hubs that will support a bigger rider like myself at a reasonable price. Love the sound, too.

Once its below 40 I run

No condition will force me to run.

There's an adventure tri here this weekend that I want to do, but am too broke to do it. 3 mile kayak, 8 mile mtn bike, and 1.75 mile run...uphill. It's like $45 to do it. I've never used a kayak before. I'd pass everyone on the road segments of the bike portion, only to be passed again on the run.
