The All Things Cycling Thread

Second ride today... 15 miles and considerably faster and more comfortable on my mtn bike. I now have some major bruising behind my right knee. I'm thinking I have a fit issue with my road bike, but I haven't changed anything siding 100 miles on it a few weeks ago. Hm...

Went to the doc today. Told me to stay off my feet and ice up my knee. No strenuous activity on my knee for up to 6 weeks. Early signs of tendinitis.

With that, I'm most likely pulling the trigger on a single speed Felt Breed cross bike tomorrow. Can't pass up the deal and it'll be better than using the red Rocky for it. Going to sell my two frames that I have lying around to fund it.

bummer....tendonitis is a beeotch and rest is about all that will fix it. I haven't ever heard of it associated with bruising like you described.....did it appear out of nowhere or did you hit it on something?

Appeared riding my bike. Didn't hit it or anything. Just guessing it was due to excessive extension. Downside to messing with my bike fit often. Had an Achilles tendon problem from the same thing that kept me off the road bike for several weeks early this year. I did ride my mtn bike tonight and it feels pretty good now.

I also reminded myself that I love riding in the rain.

And I was kind of laid off from the shop today. Gonna have to find something part time to pay rent for a couple months.

sorry to hear that man.....at least the knee feels better

23* today. Supposedly snow by the weekend. Wonder how my single speed will play in the snow. I might have yo drop the gearing to 40/21.

Got my last pay for the year from the shop today, I have enough cash to cover rent through January, but that won't be enough to get me to the start of next year. I just need a couple hundred bucks a week to get me by.

I wonder what my taxes will look like this year, I need to finish off all of my projects before race season.

All I want for Christmas is a cyclocross bike and...

***UPDATE***

I took my training wheels off and rode around In the culdesac by my house. I fell down twice. One time I scrapped my knee up good. My wife put peroxide on it, and then blew on it to take the sting away, and it helped. I gave it another go and made it 3 times around without falling.

I might actually meander onto the main road Tomm. Will come back soon with an update. Wish me luck

Perfect night for a mountain bike ride and a flat on the way to the trailhead. Avoided glass only to slam my back tire onto a concrete edge and pinch flat. Patched and CO2 only gave me about 15# of pressure. Still rode about 8 miles of singletrack. Patch didn't hold much after that, though.

What a waste when it is wet all day on Sunday.

/hate

Was all wet on Saturday. Got my grocery shopping done today by bike, then lounged around. Ran into one of our sponsored riders at the grocery store and he said he had 598 miles in last week. He averaged 120 miles/day. Must be nice owning your own green tea business.

Go tubeless. your life will be changed forever.

How many groceries can you haul on the bike? How?

That's nuts, and it seems like it would get mind-numbingly boring.

I have one pannier, so I can't really get much. At aome point I'll get a trailer to use.

Yeah, I don't understand how you can ride 600 solo miles in a week.
