1840 grams for the pair of wheels. I dropped a full pound going from one wheelset to the next and I'm also going up in size. I'm going to break these in no time...

The road bike race is solo. 6-, 12-, or 24-hour races. The 24 hour race is a qualifier for the Race Across America.

Why?

I saw a documentary on the RAA a couple years ago. I forget the specifics, but the lead guy rode something like 600-700 miles straight before getting any sleep. Insane.

It is ridiculous. Same goes for the winner of The Tour Divide. Ultra-endurance athletes are a special kind of people.

Went for a ride last night on the fat bike. Came up my normal hill on the way home pretty quick for being on a fat bike, I can feel the improvements that riding in Colorado.

It's snowing/raining/whatever today. Gross.

24 hr race might be back on. My boss is going to sponsor our team... which has a mechanic from another shop on it. Kinda funny.

^The 24hr race is $125/person. Ridiculous. We thought it was $125/team. Anyways... that's probably a no-go again.

Got 17 road miles in tonight just before dark. New Strava challenge is up, 820 miles in April. That shouldn't be too hard. 28 miles/day.

I have never done 800 miles in a month. Think I hit 700 miles once. That's a lot of time in the saddle.

Yep. I hit 850 back in 2011, I think. I spent a lot of time on my bike back then. One of my friends does like 1100 miles a month or more. He runs his own business, so he has the time to do it.

That's well over a work week's worth of time to do 800 miles.

Roughly 45-50 hours for me. If I can do two nights a week 50 miles, then 20 each remaining night, no problem. I plan on riding before and after work every day, too, and logging miles that I run errands.

After 4-5 days in a row, I'm ready for a day off. It becomes increasingly difficult to get motivated to ride.

It's going to get pretty cold for the next three days. I'll have to pound out some shorter rides and then open the throttle come Thursday. I set my sights for 850 miles in 30 days. I'd really like to get closer to 1000, though.

I got 65 miles in today between two rides. Maybe saw 10 cars all day. No harassment. It was fantastic.

If the weather holds out this weekend then my cycling season starts Saturday. I have been looking forward to riding so much. I probably have not been on my bike in weeks, so it is going to be a struggle at the beginning to get my distance back up.

Also looking at getting a new bike. Finally going to jump to a CF frame. Right now I am trying to decide on which Specialized Tarmac model. Any suggestions?

I didn't even reach 500 miles in March. Fail.

Any reason why you want a Tarmac specifically? Obviously I'd suggest the best model that you can afford, the only thing they'll differ in is build packages. They seem to be overpriced...

I have 11 miles of my goal so far. I want 220 by the end of Sunday.

Go to 3-4 different bike shops and ride various models till you find the one that suits you best.

My 3 yr old son doing his first race tonight. 1/2 mile mtb course. Curious how he's gonna do with no training. :)

Was so cold last night that my toes were blue and numb when I got home. I got a PR on the big hill, though. I'm at 40 miles so far. FORC meeting held me back on Monday night. I should have skipped that. The wind has been ferocious here the last 3 days, too.
