The Association Football Thread

When you provide stupid fu***** comments like this, you sound like an idiot.

Hey Volball, why don't YOU try providing something, other than "he thinks"

I know I'm much smarter than you. Life in general buddy.

I'm smart enough to click ignore, goodbye. Goodbye ban***man.

Ooooooooo.

The smarter in life line. You are killing it guy.

I don't really participate in this thread with you. You act like you are the ****ing messiah to every team. Just a heads up, you don't know as much as everyone. And it's ok. It's truly fine.

And oh yeah, 3-1 *****.

You're vastly overrating England. Their talent, coaching, and youth system isn't special at all.

I'm not a conspiracy guy, but there was something shady about Qatar getting the cup. Their bid was a joke.

The USA was absolutely playing for a tie against England. They attacked from Gerrard's goal to Dempsey's, and that's it.

As soon as the America finds someone who can finish (I think Agudelo will get there), you'll notice how far we've come.

Yeah, there was a lot of shenanigans around Qatar getting the Cup. I don't see how one could say otherwise.

I don't dislike England (I pull for them most matches), but they are kind of the Ohio State of international football. Lots of hype, but when they go up against the big boys, they get exposed.

Im sure Qatari's were greasing palms, but like I said if they were, then we should have greased more.

It's beyond ridiculous what the temps. are going to be during games. I remember reading about special fancy cooling systems to push air down to the pitch and keep it a reasonable temperature. Just wait until all the Northern European fans start melting and fainting in that sun and heat. Alexi Lalas will start talking like Charles Barkley and saying how turrible it is, and how there's a mega conspiracy.. but I digress.

Looks like arteta should have stayed with everton.. They'll probably finish higher on the table the way things are going.

Tomorrow should be a good game at least from a neutral standpoint. Hopefully neither side plays cagey and it's just good football to watch for 90 minutes. I'm happy that torres is expected to start, bc no one I fear more than Drogba when playing Chelsea. He always seems to be in great form against us when he starts. That might soon change with Aguero on the rise, but right now Drogba scares me when we have to play him, especially with a seasoned squad behind him and Mata now on the wing.

I expect a close game, maybe 3-1, 3-2 MU. Chelsea has shocked us before but I'm counting on this great form were in to carry us. De Gea still scares me, especially on set pieces, but well find out soon.

Ohio State proves themselves every now and then. England is more like the Notre Dame of international football at the moment.

They won't shut the hell up and they keep telling you how they have the talent, but in the end, they're pretty useless at the moment.

I've always thought England were the NY Jets of soccer. Man oh man do their fans talk loads of crap, but they can never back it up.

United looked great other than a few defensive breakdowns and a couple of uncharacteristic misses by Rooney.

Just watched it. Good effort overall. Rooney's penalty slip, and Torres open net miss were both laughable. Berbatov is still garbage. Hope Hernandez is ok. 3-1, GGMU!

There was nothing Wazza could do about that, when a huge chunk of the field gives way under his plant foot he's going to slip.
