Yet, you claimed he was the best ever....

This is my point. Oh, and lol at you saying not to put too much stock into my post. I was just stating the obvious, but you can put your stock in your own little beliefs if you want. Besides, making claims while having that player as your avatar kinda ruins your credibility.. Little bit biased? maybe.

Fear not my friend. EPL still >>>> Liga of *****

dude that was one aspect of his game that i compared to Zidane. again i simply stated Messi was the best player right now and arguably the greatest ever. me being his fan might make you think i am biased but dont take my word for it. ask the people who actually play against him.

Zidane is the best in the world and better than Messi.

at head-butting.

even they can't make that claim... They haven't played against everyone. Also, anyone that is know as someones successor can't be the best ever. He is the "new" Maradona. Wouldn't that mean he is attempting to be as good as him?

So, Maradona is the best ever?

Messi has a long way to go before he can claim to be as good as Zidane. Zidane and Ronaldo are the two best players of my lifetime.

And if you think I'm talking about the Cristiano Ronaldo, please don't bother responding to that statement.

As far as footballing goes, Maradona does have a pretty strong case. I still don't think he's on the level of Pele, but he's definitely one of the top two footballers of all time.

Cruyff is the greatest all around player ever.

Besides winning a World Cup, Zidane has nothing on Messi.

The WC is obviously the highlight but I'd say his entire international career (as of now) is better.

By watching the two, I don't see how you could honestly say Zidane is a better player

Wasn't necessarily saying that he was, even though I don't think it's completely out of bounds to debate the topic. My only point is that so far Messi has had an overall sub par (by his standards) career for his country when compared to Zidane, who was the best player on a team that won both the 98 WC and Euro 2000.

Disagree. Without the two memorable goals against England in 1986, I don't know if any of us would even know about him.

He has won a World Cup and carried France to the final of another. He has won Euro 2000 as well.

At the club level, he has also won 3 world player of the year awards (tied with Ronaldo for most ever).

Messi is one of my favorites and the best in the world now, but Zidane may have been the best midfielder ever.

Looking at France's performance in major competitions over the last 20 years or so, it's very obvious how big a difference he made.

Messi will win his third in a couple of months. And with how he's playing so far this season, he will probably win his fourth.

Fair or not, club and country are taken into account when most people are talking about great players.

Messi probably has already had a better club career, trophy and award wise. And he's only played in one World Cup during his prime.
