Well, given that Verma is back now and hoping that he and RVP can stay healthy.. There is a good chance Arsenal can get in the top 4.
I just don't have a lot of faith in Tottenham, Liverpool, and especially NU. If Tottenham lose Modric in January which I think they will, and Liverpool continues their mediocre play which I think they will I don't see them finishing above us. If Walcott, Gervinho, and RVP are a staple at the front for the season Arsenal will score a lot of goals.
Now, it is just hoping that Verma stays healthy and the D tightens up. Plus, it is good seeing Ramsey waking up and loosening up.
Finally, (I know you are regretting asking me now) when Wilshere comes back that will add a whole new dimension to the team, and it's about the same dimension that I see Tottenham losing in January.
Agreed, your chances will increase greatly if RVP is healthy and when wilshere returns
Arsenal could finish 4th with a decent record heading into january, there by able to lure a good player in the transfer period. Easily obtainable at this point, tho not a given the way your defense and GK have been known to play at times imho
But honestly, I don't expect RVP to stay healthy a full season, do u? It's an injury bug that some players just can't seem to get over. In fact, Arsenal has had injuries in general, it will be a while before they are full strength and it may too be late by then
Also, I don't believe theo and gervinho could consistently carry arsenal offensively if and when RVP goes down...or even has a bad run in form
Newcastle is 3rd with 22 pts and are undefeated in league play 1/4 of the way through the season, it's definitely a good base to have to build on
Tottenham is tied for 4th with 19 pts(with a game in hand to chelsea) ...i don't see any reason for modric to leave unless he's just absolutely dying to get away from tottenham. there is not an incentive to leave tottenham, unless it's money he wants
Liverpool is just above arsenal as u know. Their defense has been inconsistent for a while now, but all those new parts are still gelling offensively. They'll need to outscore teams to win...so the jury's still out for me. If you can say all that about wilshere, it's at least 2 or 3 fold with gerrard and liverpool...tho his injury could end up keeping out a while again
