"They just told her that if she concealed it from her family, that it would be free of charge and no financial responsibility."

Sounds like BS to me. Why would they tell her specifically to not tell her family?

where is the murder? I see stupidity but you never mentioned that in your post

Jill says her daughter, a pro-life advocate, was given a pass, put in a taxi and sent off to have an abortion during school hours all without her family knowing.

and her daughter was a pro-life advocate?

"At any age in the state of Washington, an individual can consent to a termination of pregnancy," he said.

But yet a 16 year old kid cant drink alchohol???

Maybe the girl told them that the family wouldn't approve of the abortion and that is the reason they told her to conceal it from her parents.

right that is probably exactly what happened. but these people are saying they told her it would only be paid for if they didn't tell her parents which i don't believe for a second.

I don't see the problem with this, I mean this is great. Why should a 15 year old's parents need to know that she is going for an abortion? It's not their body. And who cares how old she is, any age girl should be able to get abortions on demand and as many as she wants, and now due to the healthcare bill we get to pay for it. How dare anyone question her right to choose given to her by 9 unaccountable lawyers.

No, maybe I didnt word that right. I was paying more attention to the fact that you can consent on your own to an abortion no matter what your age.

no I understood but was just trying to make a joke. Looks like I failed

there are many valid reasons for young girls to not have to tell their parents. to imply otherwise is ridiculous.

what are those reasons?

I mean the parent is responsible for that CHILD until they are 18 years old

im just saying that I work with kids this age, and there is no way that you can tell me that they are mature enough to make this kind of decision

A child cannot get a tattoo or seek voluntary medical procedures without parental consent. Why should a situation like this be any different. It is not so much about the abortion in my view as it is about the parental rights and responsibilities, the school is overstepping it's bounds and allowing them this kind of intrusion is a slippery slope IMO.

I do have an issue with this and thats because the parent is responsible for that child and not the school. Even a 17 year old has to have written permission from the parent to enter the military.

The school out-stepped their bounds on this one. They had no right telling that girl what to do, behind the parents back. It would be that schools obligation to inform the parents of the girls intentions. No different if the girl went to a school official and made statements that she wanted to kill herself and they told her to go to a doctor but dont tell her parents.

there are plenty of parents that fit in that category as well and let's face it if your kid is getting pregnant at 15 there is a pretty resonable chance you ain't the best parent in the world int he first place.

yup, if this kind of precedent becomes practice, then 2 things will happen

1) Lawsuits against schools will go way up
2) Certain types of parents will expect the schools to take care of that for their kid, because they are worthless sorry, POS excuses for parents and human beings

you are assuming they told her what to do which i think is pretty questionable. telling her she can get an abortion is not the same thing as encouraging to get one. and once again i don't for a minute think they told her to NOT tell her parents if she wanted to do so.

very true. a 15 year old will do anything they can to not get in trouble. IF this means putting the blame on someone else, for something like this, or altering the story, that will happen.

That is what I suspect happened: she was clearly raised pro-life, and when caught in the actual situation herself didn't want a kid. So she chose to terminate the pregnancy, and is now trying to shift the responsibility away so as not to anger her parents.

the school can't legally tell the parents she's pregnant.

its funny, in college they teach you to empathize with the student and all this BS, its funny, students see that and eat it for breakfast. You gotta learn to look and pick apart their BS

I bet this is exactly what happened. Too many things that don't add up in the story.
