The Beast was on the job today. Graves played played in control and was a difference maker. AMass had some really great on time 3's. Nared appeared a little nervous. But we won and move on. Way to move on Lady Vols!!!

Yes indeed. When somebody doesn't show up then another player will. They said Ariel had 18 pts so that was good too.

Graves needs to stay where she is at and Nared and Burdick need to catch up. The latter two were not very good today and that is ok it is a win. Now those two need to get their game up to where Graves played today. Reynolds needs to play better as well.

Graves, who played hurt last season, has played great all season long. Graves has her detractors though, Vol fans who say she is no good, and not playing anything close to how well she played her freshman season.

I agree 100%. We have got to continue the play of Graves and AMass and Nared cannot, cannot miss 6 easy uncontested shots, no team can consistently leave 12 points on the floor. We also need to make better decisions. This has been some what of an issue all season long. That 4th offensive foul by Birdick was totally bad judgement when you have a player you can easily dish off to for an easy score. Birdick seemed a little rusty from 10 days off. Graves also passed up a couple of shots she can make at the top of the key.

Moore played a decent game today. She actually got a little physical on a couple of plays. She just need to be more physical consistently. She has the longest arms. I would sure like to free Kortney but doubt it will happen during the tournament.

time off seems to have an impact on them teacherdean, which i don't understand and not in a good way

Nared played as a you know what

a Freshmen, hopefully the playing time she got today, will help her thru the tournament this year ,she has the skills,I think she needs the confidence in her game play right now

it seems Burdick was another one that the time off has hurt offensively and again,no idea why

Nia Moore played a pretty good game of ball today, wasn't she the one with more blocks and knocked the ball out of the other teams players hands today ? I thought she did real well while giving Graves a break,I would like to see them on the court at the same time Moore

did you get that gule ? :)

I would also like to see Kortney Dunbar get some playing time too,she should get at least a couple of minutes per game for her cheer leading abilities from the bench :)

I feel bad for Nared but you are correct she can not miss those uncontested shots. If you look at the shots missed is because she went up soft. As i said she needs to go up strong and i hope she get this message.

I remember another freshman who ultimately became an all=american who rushed and missed many layups her freshman year. GJ

Three players had poor games our of the eight who played. can afford that moving forward.

If we can get it together we have outstanding final 4 possibilities. To me that would be a very successful year. I think that would mean that the sky will be the limit. Yes I would love to win it all but a final four is a good start. It would be very difficult to question if Holly is a winner, the facts would speak for themselves.

I believe Burdick and Nared did lead the Lady Vols in rebounding, and Graves was the recipient of several nice Burdick passes.

Sometimes our fans amaze me. We are excited about beating a team in the opening round that we should have beaten by 25-30 points. The game was on our home court against a way overmatched team. Yet we could not score. Imagine if this game was on a neutral site like the mens games are played, we might not have even won. Home court is woth a lot of points to the womens basketball team. Lets get past the Sweet 16 before we talk about the Final 4. The way we go on about how great we are sounds like Alabama fans bragging about their football team being the best. When CHW wins the championship then we have something to brag about. Till then she has us sucking UCONN and SCAR's dust.

You must be confused and visiting the wrong site. None on this site talk about final 4s... all they do is complain about how much we suck and Holly needs fired.

"Sucking SCAR's dust?" Could you be a little more dramatic? We shared the regular season championship with them this year and split the season/tourney with them last year after completely destroying them at the end of the season. I won't worry about SC until they get half the National Championships we have..

Most of these Negative Nellies couldn't care less about women's basketball. They view it with disdain and, perhaps more than anything, envy. And when it comes to Holly, well, she could win a national title every year and these pieces of crap would still want her gone. That's because their problems are more severe than simply disliking her coaching style.

There is not one thing in this thread that says we are running through the streets talking about how great the Lady Vols are because they beat an unranked team. Not one thread said this was a great game. We all realize where we stand as far as UCONN is concerned. How you can compare Alabama football fans to Lady Vol fans is beyond me. We realize that Holly is not Saban.

There is no point in debating this set of "fans." Under the guise of being realistic (where the only "realistic" opinion is Holly Sucks and the LVs suck), they sit ever ready to sling their negativity across the board, win or lose interestingly enough. Perhaps they suffer from PPD, pessimistic personality disorder; or they just get their jollies from riling people up or they are Uconn fans masquerading as LV supporters. In the end, it does not matter. They are just a source of negative energy that shifts the conversation from relevant topics, such as what do the LVs need to do better in the ensuing game with Pitt?, to tiresome topics like the program in decline; the glories of Geno, blah, blah. The LVs may not win the NC but they are not losers in the grander scheme. I wonder how many of these negavol posters can legitimately make the same claim.

I was impressed by B States motion offense and the player who went 9-12 hit shots with hands in her face. Their coach stated before the game that they had really improved in the last few weeks in their point guard play. Their matchup zone was active and extended. Had the LVs hit a few more open layups it would not have been close. I am glad they got an early test.

I think you are very much on target here. Boise St., like Missouri and some other teams, has figured out how to stay competitive against more talented teams. Slow the game down; play chipping physical defense (and hope the refs let them get away with it owing to the under dog factor) and spread the floor with outside shooting. And hitting those shots is the key to the game plan. Boise did all that very well in the first half and the LVs compounded problems by missing too many open shots and being sloppy with the ball. They turned it around in the 2nd and hopefully, they continue in that more positive mode going forward.
