When we play the more high profile teams (Villy, Pitty,) it seems like we overachieve as an underdog.
When we play the lower profile teams (Oak., Charl., USC, etc...) it seems like we underachieve as a superior opponent.
The team and players are allowing themselves to feel this way. The choice is theirs.
Personally, they play better as underdogs. They will probably be a better team without being in the rankings.
Good times coming!

personally, i find the Vols have more success on the court if i seem concerned about the game.

Nobody plays better as the underdog.

Have to disagree with that. Would agree that not every one (or every team) plays better. But motivation is a crazy thing. And its effects are even crazier.

Exactly the same situation for me! I was really nervous about Nova and Pitt and we played great ball. I counted nothing but easy wins with the Vols escaping Dec without a loss.

On the bright side: Bone should help out now that he's clear to play. Also, Maymon should be much more effective since he has a few games under his belt. I look forward to watching this team fuse together and improve throughout the year.
