Migrants were already saying they were headed to the U.S. – Mexico border because “Biden is a good person.”
Instead of deterring these migrants from coming…
On January 20, the day President Biden was inaugurated, he terminated funding for the Border Wall.
If that doesn’t send a signal that our Southern border is open…
The very next day on January 21, Biden paused deportations for 100 days and terminated President Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy, which meant migrants remained in Mexico while their asylum claims are processed.
And if that’s not enough already…
Then, Joe Biden reinstituted the Obama-era “catch and release” policy, which means instead of being held until their court hearings, illegal immigrants are released and expected to return for their court date. That rarely happens.
While Biden is relaxing the rules, reports trickle in of an influx of immigrants at the Southern border…
On February 3 it was reported: “The Department of Health and Human Services is reopening an overflow facility for unaccompanied migrant children apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border to keep up with an influx of unaccompanied minors crossing the border illegally.”
But instead of deterring migrants from coming, the Biden Administration issued guidance to agencies that limits their ability to detain and deport illegal immigrants…
As one ICE official told the Washington Post on February 7, “They’ve abolished ICE without abolishing ICE.”
But instead of correcting the record…
The Biden Administration reins in ICE’s ability to arrest illegal immigrants.
Meanwhile, immigrants continue to flow into the United States…
One border mayor even begged “Biden to stop releasing illegal immigrants into his city amid Texas’ winter storm.”
But instead…
Biden started releasing more people from ICE custody.
And then announced…
His administration was building even more shelters for the surge in unaccompanied minors crossing the border.
But instead of seeing this as a warning sign…
The White House dodges questions on whether there is a border crisis.
And forget about the global pandemic…
Even though the southern border is closed to car and foot traffic because of COVID, illegal immigrants are released into the United States anyway.
And while Democrats won’t let kids go back to in-person school…
The unaccompanied minors crossing the border are taught in classrooms.
And to make crossing the border even more tempting…
The Biden Administration is barring agencies from arresting illegal immigrants who come to collect their children who crossed the border unaccompanied.
Now…
Customs and Border Protection says, “the monthly number of attempted illegal border crossings increased 28 percent in February.” That’s “100,441 encounters with migrants crossing the border,” according to CBP.
But the Biden Administration says…
There’s still no crisis!
Even as the Homeland Security Secretary says…
This is the biggest surge of migrants at the Southern border the United States has seen in 20 years.
But according to the White House…
