Just like the very talented Auburn team of 2 years ago that I believe went 6-5, Tennessee must hire a top-notch offensive coordinator. RS has called some good games but the offense has consistently gotten worse under his tenure. Now, it can't get any worse. The fact that the offensive players play so sloppy must be blamed on the OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR. Remember, Auburn went 12-0 the very next year with a new OC. The same goes for the special teams "coach". I can't believe how TN has regressed since beating a better GA team last year. If on a 1 to 10 scale our offense was a 7 like last year instead of a 1 we would have won handily. The defense really only gave up 13 points and that after the offense left them in the worst positions. The jumping offsides was unfortunate since they have been coached all their lives to react to the ball movement. Still, what a shame to waste such talent! Now, since I live in GA, I must hear how they are natl. championship contenders since they finally played a ranked team and won. Let's see if they will go play ND in S. Bend since they could represent the SEC so much better than us. HA HA If you think GA will ever play a historic natl. power in the regular season, then I've got some excellent beachfront property to sell you in Topeka, KS.

Hire this guy...

Bond

Or this guy...

Dunbar

Those are both great coaches. I say get rid of "Blandy Randy", hire Dunbar or Bond, or maybe a Pac 10 OC, and try as hard as we can to keep Chavis.

Imagine how good we could be if our offense was as good as our defense.

Heck, our defense would be EVEN BETTER than they are now if we had a decent offense.

Or better yet this guy.... All of these could and would be better than Sanders. I don't want to hear that Leach's offense wouldn't work in the SEC because it already has. When he was the coordinator for Hal Mumme at Kentucky we had to outscore them every year. They had over 800 yards of offense versus Louisville one year. If you want further proof, look at what he did for Oklahoma under Stoops. With our defense and that offense, we would be scarey.

Y'all ever heard of Mike Van Diest? His NAIA team The Carroll College Fighting Saints have won the NAIA the last three years and are undefeated this year ( I think). I know NAIA is a LONG way from SEC football, but I've met Coach Van Diest and he's for real.

There's an inspirational story in the new Sports Illustrated about a coach born without hands. He was an All-AMerican LB at a small college. And he can catch footballs, too. He led the nation in interceptions. Maybe our offensive line and receivers can get some inspiration from his story.

You guys really think CPF is gonna bring in somebody to open up an offense? Hes gonna KEEP somebody who will mold and shape his offense plans they way HE wants it to be ran, not the OC.

Thanks!!

But I wasn't asking to replace Chavis. I was asking for someone to replace Blandy Randy.

Well I guess we can all agree.

Pac-10 = Indian for "no defense"
SEC = Indian for "no offense"

If, by some random chance Tedford crashes at Cal, make sure Fulmer talks to him. Jeff Tedford = Godly as an OC

We're doing so many things well,'' said offensive coordinator Randy Sanders. "We're so close to busting out.''

Tennessee's coaches and players have spent considerable time analyzing why the big plays have proved elusive this fall.

"Some of it's bad luck,'' said Sanders. "Some of it's lack of execution.

"Part of it is getting completely healthy. ... And we haven't played many bad defenses.''

Of course, the media and fans have been more than willing to assist the analysis. Thanks, but no thanks, say the Vols.

"We're not going to do anything specifically away from our ordinary offense,'' Clausen said Wednesday of the game plan for Georgia.

"Just because people want us to throw the ball down the field, all of a sudden we're not going to throw the ball downfield every play.

"If people don't like it, they don't need to watch us.''

"Both of 'em can throw the deep ball just fine,'' said receiver C.J. Fayton. "Right now, our timing is just a little off.''

Said Sanders, "It's like we've just had a lot of plays looking like they're getting ready to pop that haven't quite popped.

"I feel like it will come.''

UT averaged 35.2 points in Clausen's '04 starts, coming on 4.75 offensive touchdowns per game.

This fall, UT is averaging 18.5 points and 2.25 offensive touchdowns.

They forgot to talk about the penalties. That's a good excuse too.
