I’m pretty sure that’s one of those hats with the extra padding in it. IIRC, he took a line drive to the face/head a few years ago and he started wearing that hat once they hit the market.

Edit: He’s never got hit in the head, but that is why he wears it.

Yeah, but there's nothing that says he doesn't go somewhere else first then come back. Plus if Freddie never connects in the clubhouse they'll send him pretty much anywhere so he goes away.

For the longest LA writers were propping up Freddie as the good guy with the narrative that the Braves didn’t offer him a lot in all that Freddie threw his agent under the bus and feels bad about leaving now he is the bad guy in their eyes lol
