The Braves Thread

Nomar Garciaparra’s between pitch routine brought more fans to baseball than the pitch clock will.

Kids still grow up imitating all kinds of unique batting stances. If you give them 7 seconds, guys are just going to start standing there and go into a load in sync with the pitcher moving

You’re going to lose the Kimbrel arm stance, you’re going to lose the Gary Sheffield bat wag, you’re going to lose individual personalities which baseball is already sorely lacking

Just stop guys stepping out after every single pitch readjusting batting gloved and I'll be happy. That's just super annoying to me. I don't care if every single game ends up being 6 hours and 18 innings. I just really get annoyed with readjusting gloves for some reason

You can hate the pitch clock which is dumb, but having an ending the doesn’t go 12 plus innings, shouldnt be too controversial.

Things I'm not worried about for 1000 Alex.
It's a ****ing kids game let's quit acting like these guys are gonna die because they had to pitch or play a couple extra innings

Definitely should be taxing arms more and telling them to throw more innings. Speaking of, let’s ask Tyler Matzek and Luke Jackson how they’re doing

Absolutely incredible point. Did you think of this lol?

I think the old rules are what's keeping younger generation uninterested in MLB. I have 23 and 21 year old boys. They love football and basketball. I can't get them to watch a MLB game. Too boring and too long.

I'm sure that's a popular take with that age group.

MLB needs to adjust.

You either like baseball or you don’t. You’re kids aren’t going to start watching 100 Braves games a year because it’s 2:40 instead of 3 hours

And at last check, MLB destroys the NBA in regional sports viewership ratings.

MLB needs to address their marketing approach and blackout policies. They don’t need to do a single thing to the game.

Baseball has always been a local game. It’s 162 games. It’s about the journey. You can’t watch four national baseball games in a 3 week period and figure out what’s going or watch a couple morning sports shows when you’re sick and get a full pulse of MLB like the NBA. It’s not built for national talk especially with analytics so heavily involved and you can’t just give takes all willy nilly.
