The Braves Thread

Football officials put up with some unhinged behavior from coaches, but you're right. Arguments are a really dumb part of baseball culture.
I actually don't mind the meltdowns on the part of managers and players. It's a quirky, unique aspect of the sport and is entertaining. I kind of look at them like fighting in hockey. It isn't tolerated in other sports but is built into the rules/culture of that sport.

The umpires, however, supposedly as a neutral arbitrator of the rules, shouldn't be mirroring their attitude and behavior after that of a player or coach who is arguing with them. And in fact, you see a lot of times where the ump is the aggressor and gets even more belligerent than the player/manager, and starts something that wasn't even there. The Realmuto ejection is a perfect example.

Which really speaks to how ****ing hard he worked to become a star
Early on, there were some legit questions.

Yep! That's been the one thing that's impressed me so much with him. The work he's put in to get better. Me and my dad were talking about the difference in him and Francoeur. Riley has learned to lay off that outside slider more each year, as to where Francoeur never did and didn't last.
