The Braves Thread

To me, Gaudin manages to sound polished without sounding breathlessly contrived the way Chip sometimes did. I'm liking Moylan as a color guy more than Francoeur . . . which is an admittedly low bar for me.

Agree with Gaudin and how polished he sounds. Makes games really enjoyable to listen to but doesn't get obnoxiously over excited either. He's great at it.

Disagree with Moylan. To me personally I'm not a big fan of him at all. He does make some great points at times however

Is it just me, or is Francoeur better with Gaudin than Chip? Francoeur still doesn't add stuff to the broadcast that you think a former player would, but he seems to have a more genuine, less contrived rapport with Gaudin than he ever did with Chip. Which is interesting because they've known each other for like 2 months.
I think francoeur and chip hated each other. I think it’s part of the reason chip is gone

This may have already been talked about but what is the plan when Soroka is ready? Bump Elder? 6 man rotation?
I think everybody would benefit from a 6 man but probably can’t justify adding space between Fried and Strider taking the mound atp. Probably have to bump Elder and rotate through guys later on to essentially space out starts.

That, and/or something like that (e.g., he hated the production crew or something) has to be the real explanation.

The whole "going home to St Louis" thing was weird, given his deep ties to Atlanta and the Braves franchise, and I can't imagine the money is any different given Bally's financial situation. Even if their financial situation was good, why would they pay him more money to do the same job for STL instead of ATL?

I heard Darren O’Day on the radio the other day, and he was pretty good, especially with no prior experience and just having recently retired. Pointed out some things of relevance having learned them from his playing days and had some natural humor.

Strider is striking out lefties at 47.4% clip so far this season. He's only throwing the change up to lefties (which is normal) and just the existence of a 3rd pitch is obviously making an impact.
