Yep… just an absolutely moronic move. It’s rule #1 if you’re a professional athlete. Can’t even give the appearance of being connected to gambling on your own sport; much less do anything that might compromise yourself to someone in the betting industry.I didn't read the full athletic article because I don't have a sub, but it said Cephus, Moore and Tony bet on NFL games.
I agree, I also think they should be allowed to whenever where ever. What's the difference between betting a sport(not the one they play), and betting dice or poker or whatever these guys play?I think they should be able to bet on anything… except their own sport. Just too many potential issues with inside info and fixing games.
So, this third one is dumb to me if I understand it correctly. Players are allowed to bet on NON NFL things, but any other member of team personnel isn't?
if a player has a gambling problem, the team can say it isn’t because of usI wonder if that could be a union thing. The players are unionized; I'm assuming other team personnel are not.
NFL personnel not being able to place a non-NFL bet at the team facility is just beyond stupid. I can't think of a single logical reason for that.
