The Braves Thread

If you're not making the FF then who really cares.

FWIW I hate last seasons B Ball team didn't make a FF, but in all honestly I can't hate on it too much. That team went probably as far as it ever was going to.
Your first sentence contradicts the second sentence. Ultimately, you can't get too upset if your team seems to realize its potential.

That 2022 team, IMO, overachieved. Perhaps substantially overachieved. In a 12-team playoff, we would have hosted Penn St at Neyland and probably beaten them, then played TCU at a neutral site and probably beat them.

I think you're underestimating just how good that 22 offense was, and the fact nobody at that time had a scheme for it on defense.

That win becomes irrelevant as soon as what happened next happened.
Its like the 22 football season, rarely is anything mentioned about it without SCAR being brought up. You lose goodwill when you choke.

God I cannot imagine thinking about 22 Alabama, one of the 6 or 7 best sports memories I’ve ever had, and immediately thinking “yeah but they chocked against South Carolina”. That sounds like an absolutely miserable way to watch sports

Personal. Problem.

Hindsight bias. Nobody, even the most orange-blooded people on this board, knew how good that offense was going to be. Hell, Hooker wasn't even the starting QB to open the season. Hyatt couldn't catch the ball before the season started. Darnell Wright was looking like a bust before that season started.

Nobody really realized how special that offense was until after the Alabama game. I think we knew it was good after UF and LSU, but you could have doubts in the background ("are UF and LSU even all that good," LSU game was during the day, etc.).

Have you visited the RF much? Every conversation about 22 ends with, but South Carolina.

I still would like to see SCAR with Banks.
I still think that was a huge part of the issue.

Who gives a **** what the RF thinks? That's their problem. The 2022 Alabama game is probably my favorite sports moment of all time, and the only thing that would top it at this point would probably be Tennessee football winning a national title. It isn't like we beat Alabama that year but finished 5-7. It isn't a "remember how loud the 2015 Oklahoma game was" moment. Good grief.

Don't worry about the past. Live in the future.

Roger Goodell: “We do everything we can to make the game safe and protect our players. Our players healthy is priority #1.”

Also Roger Goodell: “Hey Lions enjoy a week 5 bye and in the middle of the season playing 4 games in 19 days. Good luck!”

"Best I can do is offsetting penalties to start each of those games."
