The Braves Thread

So next year we obviously need at least one transfer but the hope is Heard improves, Sanders is ready day 1, Satterwhite takes over C day 1 and Umarov is ready?

So something like Heard/Umarov/Satterwhite/transfer/Sanders

I don’t even like the few “successes” he has had

3 batter minimum is dumb AF

Pitch clock sucks

The shift ban literally did nothing and that bozo spent 6 months talking about it like it would change the sport

Meanwhile we’ve had the tech for the ABS system to challenge calls since 2020 and he still doesn’t have a timeframe to implement it

absolutely. Automating balls/strikes is the only thing he should be working on.

Baseball is almost perfect. It can sustain itself for a 1,000 years.

You really gotta work to screw it up. It’s almost impressive.
They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past. Of course, we won't mind if you look around, you'll say. It's only $20 per person. They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it is money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in short sleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again.

Why do people who don't follow or even like baseball have all these ideas for fixing it? The folks who whined the most about pace of play was the "baseball is boring and I don't know how anybody watches it" and "let them use steroids so they can hit 100 HRs a year" crowd. It's like the Premier League listening to a bunch of Americans who hate soccer for ideas on how to make the game more exciting.
