Just got done reading this article in Rolling Stone. I feel like vomiting and eating a baby.

What a joke of a piece. It gave Obama credit for TARP. Now, if I am not mistaken, Bush was responsible for TARP.

Obama was responsible for the recovery act which was designed to create jobs and save Detroit with cash for clunkers etc.

Anyway I am no expert on either program, but it was a joke of a read. Went almost as far to say he is the most accomplished President in history.

I have to give Obama that. He has "accomplished" far more and in a far reaching range than the past couple of Presidents. But where I part is whether these "accomplishments" are something to be lauded. I think the message the Dems have taken in the election are proof enough of that.

Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson came up with TARP in mid September of 08, the same time the Lehman Brothers declaired BK. It was signed into law by G.W in early Oct 08

Obama did not step up to calm the markets after he was elected in Nov 08 and the only thing he did when sworn in was to promise to close Gito, and change the fedeal law on both Fed funding for abortion, and the Freedom of Informatiom Act. It was because of his inaction that the market continued to declined into March until the affects of TARP were felt

Obama's TARP connection is that he signed to release the second wave and used part of that to bailout GM (while screwing the bond holders). I believe he expressed support for TARP during the election but it was a Paulson/Bush program.
