1. That's how you gut out a win. Games in March are won more on toughness than execution.
2. Hopefully, that finally convinces this team they are a grinding, halfcourt team. Their strengths make them that.
3. Good job by everyone on the boards. They took advantage of an undermanned opponent.
4. Memphis will have to win their conference tournament to make the NCAAs. They'll be lucky to win half their conference road games.
5. Bad day for Pastner. Waiting that long to go zone was a terrible misuse of his personnel.
6. Holding Elliott Williams in check might be the best defensive accomplishment of the Pearl Era. Solid work by everyone who guarded him.
7. St. John's and Georgetown is a big one tonight. The Red Storm can announce their return with a win.
8. Oklahoma desperately needs to win tonight. You don't want to go into this year's Big 12 with a thin resume.
9. It'll be interesting to see who wins the battle of point guard challenged teams between West Virginia and Purdue tomorrow. Winner gets a huge boost in reputation.
10. Happy New Year. Here's hoping '10 is prosperous for all.

Big win for us. We needed a quality road win. I was not impressed with Memphis at all. We won this game with defense and rebounding. Still need improvement on the 3 pointers and free throws. All in all a big win for us.

i still am not impressed. I think that road win will not mean much but name only come selection sunday. Memphis will lose a lot more games. I am glad to see Chism with his choke collar working keeping him inside!

That was a good win. I hope to see more of that team. It was a very hostile environment and they beat a good team that badly needed a win over a ranked team. I have a feeling that it would have been much more decisive a victory in TBA.

Very pleased with the defense. Half court offense bad as usual, especially against the zone. Still too many bone head plays, and I don't understand how Williams plays over Hall.

The refs calling so many fouls on the guards had more to do with game flow than location. TBA would have been same outcome with Elliott Williams in foul trouble and Mack fouling out down the stretch

after Williams' awful performance today, I would be shocked if Hall didn't start seeing more minutes.

They played patient on offense and defense, maybe a little too much on offense. They really closed the lane on the defensive end in the second half, making Memphis shoot more three's. That type of pressure in the lane will keep us in many of the games with the big boys.

This is where teams with good guards back it out and make 16 foot jumpers all night. We must improve our defensive guard play.

Why does Wall get so little PT? I don't understand it. Yet Woolridge and Mcbee see the floor, makes no sense.

11. McBee played 12 more minutes than he should have. If he can't knock down a spot up 3, then he should not be on the floor. That's the only reason he is out there. 0 for 3 in 4 of his last 5 games.

Always nice to win.

Prince wasn't even intolerable for the most part, at least after the two gaffes in the first minute of the game.

Brian Williams is not going to lose any playing time to Hall. I don't know what CBP sees in him. He was 1 for 5 but did have 8 rebounds.

There were still a couple things that I didn't like from the game:
1. 2 of 13 from 3 point land, 15%
2. Tyler only took 5 shots tonight. I guess he is saving himself for SEC play. He needs to shoot more.
