The Coen Brothers -vs- Quentin Tarantino

Gotta put a kid to bed. Somebody with a minute feel like listing some top movies? Visually, QT has to have the edge. Coen bros have more of my deep sense of humor though. It's a tough call for me actually because both parties are creative geniuses.

vs.

My Best Friend's Birthday
Resevoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Four Rooms
Jackie Brown
Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2
Grindhouse (Death Proof)
Inglourious Basterds

It's the Coen brothers and it's not really close.

Overall, I agree. Heard I need to see Burn after Reading. Friend was talking about it this weekend.
Though if you take the top 3 or 4, you could make an argument.

QT also wrote True Romance and Natuarl Born Killers.

I would say it's the Coen Bros. narrowly over QT as it pertains to overall body of work but Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs are two movies in my Top Ten with The Big Lewbowski in my Top 20.

I love Tarantino, but not everything he's done. I've basically loved everything the Coens have done.

Coen. No Country for Old Men. Period.

I like Quentin, but I couldn't watch his films over and over. The Coens have a gift for telling a story without a lot of dialogue. Quentin has great lines and scenes, but I don't get the same suspense from his films.

One of the Coens biggest strengths is making no-name actors with tiny roles memorable. Most Coen fans can probably picture all these characters in their minds:

"Sir, did you not just hear me?" - No Country
"Nope, unless you think round is funny" - Raising Arizona
"I don't carry Dapper Dan. I carry Fop." - O Brother
"Just kinda funny looking is all." - Fargo

I could go on and on.

As many have said QT is probably stronger at the top(Reservoir Dogs & Pulp Fiction I also think Jackie Brown is fairly underrated) but the Coens have a better overall body of work.
