They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq .... Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it anymore.

Did you get that from an email?

How can you think that our Constitution will work for people who vary so differently culturally? The United States is not World Government.

With the way are current POTUS views the Constitution, I doubt he'll be passing it along.

It's not some radical document. It has basic principals that every civilization should strive for

Not overnight - nobody said overnight. Pump the oil out until we pay for the war. Get it out if it takes a line of tankers everyday. When we hit the break even number, stop pumping, install a dictator, get out.

Problem is... the oppression that the colonists were feeling at the time does not equate to current oppressions... Taxation is of minor concern when you are in fast for you and your family's safety.

Right, right. Much more simple now. Continue to leave a military presence in Iraq until we have pumped enough oil to pay for the war. So, when we pump this oil, we take all of it? That will require an even greater military presence to deal with the unrest that will follow? Or, do we pump a smaller percentage?

Really, though, it does sound simple.

So why can't ME countries have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, right to assemble, etc?

Two words.

First word two syllables.

First syllable sounds kinda like what a cow does.

Second Syllable is what Rosie O'Donell isn't.

Now onto the second word.

One syllable word.

Tom Hanks played in a movie about it. AOL used this word in its catch phrase.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why people in the ME would be under the impression that we want to control them.

No, they can, but the idea is as foreign to them as cutting off you right hand for theft is to us. It's hard to want something when you have no idea it exists at all.

Pretty sure that's why they are protesting and will continue to revolt until those basics are granted

Have to disagree with this. They are not protesting for the same things outlined in our Constitution, they are protesting to decide who has the legal authority to cut off their hands.

They aren't in the streets protesting who gets to chop off people body parts

Really, yet they, by both Zogby polls and a separate Pew poll come down on the side of radical islamic government. Look up the Egyptian poll, and tel me you still think the right to assemble is what this is all about.
