If I remember right, they haven't played in the Cotton bowl for a couple of years now. I agree it don't look right not playing in the Cotton bowl. They should just go ahead and change the name now.

They did a lot reno's 4-5 years ago and brought the capacity up from 68k to 92k.

Does anyone regularly use the stadium? I know the OU/Texas game and the Heart of Dallas Bowl is there but that's about it.

That's one of my favorite rivalry games of the year. It's awesome listening to the bands battle it out during the game! It always has the feel of the traditional college football game.

You can also get snow in North Texas in January. With an open stadium, that might even be a bigger reason.
