I know I shouldn't car or anything but I can't help it. The cubs are only 5.5 games out of the wild card. The two teams infront of the , florida and houston, are playing each other in a series coming up and the cubs still have plenty of games with houston. I know I am just setting myself up but I can't but help it.

Not when you got 8 games with the wild card leader left.

Im a huge cubs fan as well, and I just cant sit back and think that they are going to just die, but the numbers are against them.

The problem isn't that they are 5.5 games out, it's that they are behind Houston, Florida, Philadelphia and Washington and tied with at least 2 others. If they were all alone in 2nd, they might still have a chance, but with that many teams in front of them, they basically can't lose the rest of the way.
