Are you questioning the ride or the poster? You can google the ride to get confirmation as to whether or not you want to support it. As to volinbham, he is a long known and respected poster (some on here know him personally, I don't); imo there is nothing to worry about as to his participation/ethics relating to the ride.

Again, jmo.

The organization is legit and has been doing this particular fundraiser since 2012.

The money goes straight to them - never passes through my hands. I put in my own cash as well.

About a 1/3 of my way to the initial goal - 1/2 of that has come from the Volnation!

I was using VG to keep it semi anonymous but the cat's out of the bag I reckon.

I tried and site wouldn't work. Said 905 error. I know the info typed in was correct and I know the card is good. Was there a problem last night? Everyone else seems to be successful, but I am a little leery about putting all that info in again.

I did mine with Paypal so I don't know about doing it direct. Looks like Paypal charges a fee of a buck per 20 so just a heads up.

I don't have a Paypal account, just tried again, this time the error came back as "FRAUD".

thanks for trying - disturbing to hear your results and I don't blame you for not trying again.

for the record, I know of 4 people who paid with credit card.

I went to their web site, emailed them, and asked if I could send a physical check and have it allocated to your fund raising. Haven't heard back yet, could not find a physical address for them or I would have just mailed it to them.

I use this card all the time, it is our "internet card", I think the main thing is I am just frustrated that I can't get it to take the donation :).

EDIT: Look at the response. I am copying it below in case anyone else has issues like I did. I changed to my Visa; it went through with no problems.

I have just looked into this specific error and it does seem related to the Discover card not being available for use on the US payment gateway. I will be requesting some more information from Movember on this. Alternatively, yes we absolutely do accept cheques and can assign it to a specific rider.

The DGR x Movember Cheque Form can be downloaded from this page - https://www.gentlemansride.com/about/downloads. If you attach that form with the cheque we can assign it once it is received.
