I wonder how many millions of $$$ they paid a firm to come up w/that name?
Somebody's 5 yo probably came up w/that name. I heard a long time ago that was how they came up w/the name "Super Bowl".

I'm thinking they first decided it had to be the Oakland B's and then tried to find an appropriate 'B' word and didn't find a lot of options

On the latter subject, 'Super Bowl' is one of those terms we don't think about because we're so used to it, but if you do ponder it, it's a really stupid name for what has become a premier sporting event. Kind of like naming a band the Beatles when you think about it.

Back in the late 60s they were trying to come up w/a name & couldn't find one to fit. I heard one of the big wigs asked somebody's little kid what he'd call it and he said call it the Super Bowl. You have all these bowl games for college so just call it the super bowl of them all.
