I will just say this, if we’re to believe that the committee’s job, is to get the 4 best teams in, I think they did the best they could, when you look at the criteria. However, they seem to keep changing, see TCU last year. We all knew they were not one of the 4 best in the country. Florida State had the worst SOS of the selection and has looked bad the last 2 weeks with their backup QB’s.For those that didn’t believe the Alabama bias before today, I hope they see it now. FSU came into this week as the number 4 team and won their conference championship game but got jumped by the team that came into this week as number 8. Make it make sense. They won their conference championship with a freshman third string QB for crying out loud. If Alabama had done that ESPN would be praising Saban like he was the messiah.
Everyone will forget all about FSU, when Georgia takes them out back...I will just say this, if we’re to believe that the committee’s job, is to get the 4 best teams in, I think they did the best they could, when you look at the criteria. It took Alabama a 4th and Goal Hail Mary to beat an Auburn team that had just gotten blown out to New Mexico State at home. Are we to believe that is one of the best 4 teams in the country?I will just say this, if we’re to believe that the committee’s job, is to get the 4 best teams in, I think they did the best they could, when you look at the criteria. I think we both know, being Tennessee fans, that a team can look great one week and look like crap another. Auburn gave their all in the Iron Bowl and Bama didn’t have their best day but still won. If we believe the SEC is such a dominant conference, how do you leave the 12-1 Champion out? I hate Bama as much as anyone but, feel they are one of the 4 best teams. It took Alabama a 4th and Goal Hail Mary to beat an Auburn team that had just gotten blown out to New Mexico State at home. I’ve said it all year long that this is the worst the SEC has been in a very long time. Possibly the worst since the start of the BCS/CFP era. Whenever Missouri is the third best team it’s laughable. The conference deserves no benefit of the doubt this year.I think we both know, being Tennessee fans, that a team can look great one week and look like crap another. Edit to add that I think 3 of the 4 best are
Georgia
Texas
Bama
Not necessarily in that order
I agree but, I also think play a SEC schedule is brutal. Outside of OOC games, how many cupcakes does any one team have? We beat each other up, week in and week out. Not many conferences have as many tough teams as the SECI’ve said it all year long that this is the worst the SEC has been in a very long time. Possibly the worst since the start of the BCS/CFP era. I’m sorry but you cannot convince me that Alabama deserves an opportunity whenever they mightily struggled against USF, Arkansas, and Auburn. Those are 3 “bad” wins on their résumé. Comparatively, FSU only had 2 such games against BC and Florida if you want to consider that one even though they still won by 2 scores. Why isn’t that being talked about?I agree but, I also think play a SEC schedule is brutal. Outside of OOC games, how many cupcakes does any one team have? We beat each other up, week in and week out. That’s fair, we can agree to disagree. We had some struggles in 98 also, Arkansas comes to mind first but there were others. We know how that turned out. I just think when you look at who is playing the best right now, like getting hot at the right time, Bama is ahead of Florida State.I’m sorry but you cannot convince me that Alabama deserves an opportunity whenever they mightily struggled against USF, Arkansas, and Auburn.
